Elise Interiors is a design studio in San Francisco focused on creating highly personal interiors shaped by the landscapes around them and people within them.

Inspired by contrasts as a means to achieve balance, every Elise Interiors design is layered and textural, with unexpected elements held together by common threads. While this philosophy informs the design process, the project site’s underlying character in tandem with the passions and lifestyles of its owners guide the narrative. Tightly patterned textiles might drape over clean silhouettes, antiques often sit beside newly crafted pieces, a family heirloom could be reworked to reminisce on the past while functioning in the present.

ELISE

Born and raised in Mill Valley, Elise draws energy and inspiration from her surrounding landscape. Growing up, she split her free time between running and hiking the trails of Mount Tam and the Sierras, and translating the landscapes that inspired her into pen and ink works. Her attention to detail and interest in mixing materials carry through into her design work. Inspired by the simultaneous chaos and balance of nature, Elise’s designs play with pattern and form, incorporating divergent elements into cohesive wholes.

Elise’s love of the mountains drew her to Dartmouth College, near the White Mountains, where she studied Human Centered Design. Focused on solving human needs by first building deep connections with others to understand root problems, this system of innovation questions assumptions and places empathy at the center of problem-solving.

At the outset of each project, Elise builds a relationship with her Client to appreciate their personality and priorities. Guided by this understanding, the project’s setting, and her aesthetic intuition, Elise creates bespoke designs that enhance the environments around them and their Clients’ lives within.
